General:
Peter's will was proved 12 October following. Resided on East Street, Hingham. He was Constable 1688, and Selectman 1689 and 1702. In 1670, Peter's father Daniel built for Peter the house near the Cohasset line, in that part of Hingham known as Rocky Nook, which has been occupied by five generations of Peter's descendants. It is shaded by a fine old elm tree, transplanted in 1729. When the house was built there was no road going by it (now East Street); the only way leading to it was Turkey Hill Lane, a path leading from the "Plain" to Cohasset.
