Birth per "Vital Records of Lynn, MA to the End of the Year 1849", Volume 1,
page 380. Birth also reported as 21 Feb 1714.
His early years were spent at sea. He married first wife and settled in
Leominster, Mass. She bore him sixteen children, and died in child-birth, at
Ashby, Mass. He married 2nd wife, who bore him four children, and died. He
married (3) wife who bore him three children and survived him. He died in
that part of Amherst, NH, now constituting Mount Vernon, and his widow in her
declining years, lived with her son, Isaac Stearns, in Littleton, NH, where
she died, over ninety years of age. No accurate dates of the births and
deaths of his first twenty children are at hand, six of whom died in infancy,
without a name. The following is probably the correct order of the births of
those named, in this numerous family.
