Parents of Holden, Mass.

He was a cordwainer and lived many years in Northbridge then returned to
Holden, Mass., to the old Stearns homestead which was still in possession of
his rescendants. When first built, the house was neither clapboarded nor
plastered, and its builder, Increase Stearns, who was an old man when it was
first plastered, selt in one of the rooms before it was dry, took cold and
died.

Increase Jr. served nine months in the Revolutionary Army in place of his
father, Increase, Sr., who had enlisted for three years, but was wounded
before his term of service had expired. Increase Jr. died in Holden, Mass.

It is not clearly ascertained whether it is Isaac (#7583) son of John, of
Isaac (#11555) son of Nathaniel who married Mehitable Frost (#11556). For this
data base, I have assumed the latter.
