THOMAS NYE (Benjamin,82 Jonathan,5 Benjamin1), born in Sandwich, Mass., January 21, 1741. He served in the Revolutionary army as Ensign in Captain Simeon Fish's (1st Sandwich) company, Colonel Joseph Otis's regiment (1st Barnstable company list of officers dated September 29, 1775.) Also as a private in Captain Job Crocker's company, (Crocker being of Eastham), Colonel Nathan Sparhawk's regiment. He entered service July 2, 1777; discharged December 12, 1777; service five months seventeen days, at Rhode Island and sundry places in Massachusetts, three days (62 miles) travel home included; company raised to serve for six months from July I, 1777, unless sooner discharged. Also, private in Captain Simeon Fish's company, Colonel Freeman's regiment; service eleven days, on a alarm at Dartmouth and Falmouth in September, 1778. He married June 7, 1764, Thankful Blossom. She died in 1794 aged forty-nine years. He died in 1788, his will being dated March 25, 1788, and proved June 10, 1788.
