WEST YARMOUTH \emdash A woman with a long criminal history was arrested Monday night for allegedly stabbing a man with a fork.
Dawn M. Squires, 46, of Hiramar Road, Hyannis, was charged with domestic assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon after the man called police at 10:30 p.m. to have Squires removed from his room at the Yankee Village Motel.
The victim's leg was bleeding, and he told police that Squires \emdash with whom he has a long-term relationship and a child in common \emdash stabbed him with a fork, punched and shoved him, according to a report written by police Officer Michael Zontini.
Squires has 77 prior charges in Massachusetts, the report said.
She recently was released from the house of correction after being incarcerated for assaulting the same man in a previous incident, Zontini wrote.
In 2010, Squires was arrested for ordering her pit bull to attack the man at the Craigville Motel, according to Cape Cod Times archives.

EASTHAM — Marie Stackpole-Hayes, 61, died March 30 at home after a short illness.
Mrs. Stackpole-Hayes was born on Nantucket, the daughter of Annette (Paradis) and Charles Stackpole Sr. She attended Nantucket schools through her junior year, at which time she was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in English literature and political sciences.
She moved to Cambridge, and being an accomplished chef, opened a thriving restaurant and catering business at The Plough and Stars, a local fixture. It was there that she met her future husband, Donald Hayes, an ornamental ironworker and artist. Avid wildlife enthusiasts, they eventually moved to Eastham to be closer to the ocean.
In Eastham they founded the Forge Cove Blacksmith Shop and she continued her catering business. A talented artist, she turned the blacksmith shop into an art studio upon her husband’s death. She loved walking, traveling, books and antiques in addition to her painting. She was active in her church and community.
She is survived by her son, Chris Alberghini of Los Angeles; her daughter, Siobhan Stackpole of Cohasset; one granddaughter; her sister, Anne Menz of Texas and Nantucket; two brothers, Charles Stackpole of Florida and Nantucket, and John Stackpole of Nantucket; two aunts, an uncle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held June 14 at 11 a.m. at First Parish Church in Brewster. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wild Care, 10 Smith Lane, Eastham, MA 02642; or UNA Hospice, 434 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660.
