" The sons of Benjamin Doane were Joseph and William." Pratt, 17
Benjamin's name appears on the Eastham records in the list of his father's children, but the date of birth is not given. He is named on his father's will, dated April 24, 1784.
About 1791, Benjamin moved from the Cape to the North Parish of Brookfield, where he bought a farm of Bryant Foster. The bell on the new church there was tolled for the first time at his funeral. After his death, his widow, Hannah, returned to the Cape to live with a married daughter.
