death by 1625 assumed, because Samuel remarried then 20Marriage Notes (Samuel More)
Katherine sought an annulment in 1616, on grounds of precontract, which was not granted.Marriage Notes (Jacob Blakeway)
Jacob Blakeway was found guilty of adultery in the Court of High Commission, and paid a small fine. Then Samuel filed for divorce, which was granted. In this era, that did not sever the marriage bond completely - Katherine retained her dower rights, but the children were under Samuel's legal control. Lawsuits continued.
How to get rid of unwanted children? He had connections to the Right Honorable Edward Lord Zouche of St. Maur and Cantelupe, 11th Baron Zouche of Harringworth, a member of King James' Privy Council. Lord Zouche was a Puritan sympathizer, and involved with the London Virginia Company. He arranged with the Thomas Weston to put the children in the care of infuential members of the Separatist colony. Samuel More paid £80, an adult passage, guaranteeing them a fair allotment of land, that they would not be seen as indentured servants (thus differing from the Virginia model.) He also invested $20 in the overall venture, the profits to go to the most deserving of the children. 20

Richard More and sister Mary came to Plymouth in 1620 as members of William & Mary Brewster's household. The four More children were split among the Mayflower families, with Ellen put to the family of Edward & Elizabeth Winslow, and Jasper put to the household of John & Katherine Carver.Marriage Notes (Elizabeth Woolnough)
Richard seems to have been a randy character.
A record of the First Church of Salem reads:
"Old Captain More having been more many years under suspicion and a common fame of lasciviosness, and some degree at least of incontinency and therfore was at severall spoke to, by sundry brethren and also by the Elders in a private way, because for want of proof we could go no furhter. He was at last left to himself so farr that he was convicted before justices of the peace by three witnesses of gross unchastity with another man's wife and was censured by them."
