Esther T. Reed
Born and raised in Eastham
FINES CREEK, N.C.\emdash Esther T. Reed, 73, died Jan. 14. She was the wife of Dick Reed.
Mrs. Reed was born and raised in Eastham the daughter of the late Theodore and Esther Knowles Tibbals. She graduated from Eastham Grammar school and Orleans High School, where she played the trumpet in the school band.
She earned an RN degree from Children's Hospital in Boson and worked in Home Health.
He was known for her faith, honesty, and her gift of helping anyone in need, including dogs.
Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Amy Miller of Zionville, N.C., Dan Reed of New Hampshire, Jonathan Reed of Ontario, Canada; siblings, Marie Taves of Provincetown, Lucy Ott of Westwood, N.J. and Eastham, Ted Tibbals of Scarborough, Me., Fred Turner of Eastham, Frances Francis of Eastham; 17 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
A memorial service was held in North Carolina on Jan. 24. Memorial donations may be sent to David's Fund, 62 James St., Westwood, N.J. 07675.
