Francis ‘Molly’ Joseph, 77
Life-long resident known for his “big heart”
Francis “Molly” Joseph, 77, of Provincetown, died Sunday, April 16, in the Cape End Manor after a long illness. He was the husband of Virginia (Menangas) Joseph.
A life-long Provincetown resident, he was a son of the late Antone and Lena (McKay) Joseph. He worked at Atlantic Coast Fisheries in Provincetown for over 20 years. After it closed, he worked as a carpenter and caretaker for many commercial and residential properties during the off-season. For the past 20 years he worked as an employee of the town of Provincetown.
Mr. Joseph enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading and driving around the town he loved. His special times, however, were taking care of his grandchildren and having morning coffee with the “boys” at Adam’s Pharmacy — simple pleasures for a very simple man with a big heart.
Along with his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his two sons, Mel Joseph of West Barnstable and Kenneth Joseph of Wellfleet; two daughters, Sandi Abraham of Truro and Brenda Ferdinand of Arlington; a sister, Priscilla Joseph of Provincetown; plus grandchildren Amy and Kate Howes-Joseph, both of West Barnstable, and Andrea and McKenzie Abraham of Truro.
Calling hours are Thursday, April 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at McHoul Funeral Home, Howland Street and Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown, with Vigil Prayers at 6:30 p.m. A graveside Committal Service and burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 21, at the Provincetown Cemetery.
