Nathaniel [Atwood] was born in 1839, and married Olive J., daughter of Nathaniel Hopkins of Truro. He was captain of a whaler eleven years, and for ten years in merchant service. Since 1882 he has been superintendent for Lyon, Dupuy & Co. of Boston, exporters to Hayti. Prior to 1882 he lived in Provincetown. He has one daughter and one son, Edward H. Atwood, the only male representative of the name in this generation.

Pearl H. Baker, 94
Pearl H. Baker, 94, of Provincetown died Friday, April 4, at the Cape End Manor in Provincetown.
Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late Chester I. and Blanche Hopkins. Mrs. Baker moved to Provincetown in 1936 when she married her late husband, George A. Baker, a native of Provincetown. George died in January 1992.
For many seasons during the 1950s, when her children were young, she worked at High Head Cottages at Beach Point. During the 1960s and early ’70s, she worked in the kitchen at the Cottage Restaurant on Commercial Street in Provincetown. She was a long-time member and active participant at the Provincetown United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the women's society at the church and for many years she worked in the church thrift shop.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter, Cindy Dalpe, and son-in-law, James, of North Fort Myers, Fla.; her son, Francis Baker, and his wife, Alice, of Montana; three granddaughters, Julie (Dalpe) Peve and her husband, B.J., of North Fort Myers, Dawn (Baker) Bouvier and her husband, David, of Utah, Kelly (Baker) Fellimen and her husband, John, of N.Y., and her great-granddaughter, Madison Bouvier, of Utah.
A funeral service was scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, in Provincetown United Methodist Church, 10 Shank Painter Road. Interment followed in Provincetown Cemetery. Visiting hours are private. If desired, memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. Baker may be made to the Provincetown United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 311. Provincetown, MA 02657. Arrangements are under the direction of the Gately-McHoul Funeral Home of Provincetown.
