Notes
General:
"Census of 1850 indicates Solomon was a blacksmith. It was probably Solomon who discovered the wreck of the Sparrow Hawk on Nauset Beach in 1863. He was known as Captain because he was captain of the life-saving station at Nauset Beach from 1878 to 1893. In 1882 he was elected Represenataive to the Massachusetta State Legislature. Family tradition cites that he and Abigail built cranberry barrels and did upholstery in the barn behind their house."
