His brother Joseph Hamblen administered his estate, and the final settlement and distribution was made 20 Feb 1737/1738. Eleazer, of Harwich, late of Barnstable, yeoman, Joseph, of Yarmouth, blacksmith, and Elizabeth of Barnstable, acknowledged the receipt of 52,0,6, of their uncle Joseph in full for their father's estate.
[Rather a long wait for the money. Is the death date right?]

Cape man leads police on wild chase
By K.C. MYERS

HYANNIS \emdash A man with a history of thefts on his criminal record jumped out of his car while it was still in drive and scaled a barbed wire fence to evade the police last night.

At about 5:50 p.m., Barnstable police Detective Brian Guiney spotted Jared Hamblin, 43, of Marstons Mills placing two air conditioners into a shopping cart at Shaw's Market on Route 132, police Sgt. Kevin Tynan said. Hamblin had exited through the store's entrance door, leading the detective to become suspicious.

The detective tried to get Hamblin to pull over, but Hamblin accelerated and drove onto Attuck's Lane.

As the police followed, Hamblin jumped out of his Pontiac Grand Am while the car was still moving, Tynan said.

While the car came to rest in the woods, Hamblin scaled a fence topped with barbed wire and began to run across the runway at Barnstable Municipal Airport. He scaled another fence and ran onto the Cape Cod Potato Chips property, where an acquaintance picked him up, Tynan said. The police pulled over that vehicle and found Hamblin in the trunk.

Hamblin, whose record includes multiple larcenies going back several years, is being held on $10,000 cash bail. He faces charges including larceny of more than $250, failure to stop for an officer, operating after license revocation and trespassing on airport property, Tynan said.
