"Capt. James Fishburn, formerly a resident of Wellfleet. died at his home in Boothbay, Maine, April 28th. Captain Fishburn was master of many vessels from Wellfleet when a fleet of 70 vessels sailed from this port in the 70's and 80's. He commanded the schooners Robert Ripley, George Shattuck, Louise A. Swett, Mary Steele, Nil Desperandum, and others. He was a highly esteemed citizen and considered trustworthy by all who knew him. The captain was a member of Adams lodge of Masons. His age was 70 years. Interment was at Boothbay, Me." 19 May 1913, p4, Barnstable Patriot
